John Gobble 0My house was decorated with seven wood pillars, each roughly 7 feet in height with 6 inch bases that tapered up to 4 inches. These came original with the house, which was built in 1964. Over the years, these pillars weathered, and their bases rotted. They eventually got to the point of needing to be either replaced for ~$2,000 or restored for ~$200-$400 + my time. I chose to have some fun and brave the restoration.
